SMP (survival multiplayer) servers are community survival worlds: build, trade and play alongside the same people over time.
What makes a good SMP server

- Land claims or anti-grief, so your builds are safe
- Rules that are actually enforced

How to find a good SMP server
Smaller SMPs feel like a friend group: everyone knows each other, and your builds become part of a shared world. Bigger ones add shops, economies and events. Many SMPs are Java-first and some take applications through Discord.
How to join
Java Edition
On Java: open Multiplayer, click Add Server, paste the IP and save, then double-click the server.
Bedrock Edition
On Bedrock: go to Play, then Servers, scroll down to Add Server and enter the IP and port (usually 19132). On consoles you can join the featured servers directly.
